Caldwell 46, popularly known as Hubble's Nebula, is a nebula (NGC 2261) in Monoceros — a luminous cloud of interstellar gas and dust. It appears as number 46 in the Caldwell catalogue, Sir Patrick Moore's 1995 list of 109 bright deep-sky objects for amateur astronomers. It spans roughly 2 arc-minutes on the sky. At about magnitude 11.8, it is a fainter object best hunted with a moderate telescope under dark skies.
