Caldwell 74, popularly known as the Eight-Burst Nebula, is a nebula (NGC 3132) in Vela — a luminous cloud of interstellar gas and dust. It appears as number 74 in the Caldwell catalogue, Sir Patrick Moore's 1995 list of 109 bright deep-sky objects for amateur astronomers. It spans roughly 0.5 arc-minutes on the sky. At about magnitude 9.2, it shows up in a small backyard telescope.
