Caldwell 66 is a star cluster (NGC 5694) in Hydra — a family of stars bound by gravity. It appears as number 66 in the Caldwell catalogue, Sir Patrick Moore's 1995 list of 109 bright deep-sky objects for amateur astronomers. It spans roughly 3.3 arc-minutes on the sky. At about magnitude 10.9, it is a fainter object best hunted with a moderate telescope under dark skies.
