Caldwell 43 is a galaxy (NGC 7814) in the constellation Pegasus — a distant island of stars far beyond the Milky Way. It appears as number 43 in the Caldwell catalogue, Sir Patrick Moore's 1995 list of 109 bright deep-sky objects for amateur astronomers. It spans roughly 4.4 arc-minutes on the sky. At about magnitude 10.6, it is a fainter object best hunted with a moderate telescope under dark skies.
