Caldwell 29 is a galaxy (NGC 5005) in the constellation Canes Venatici — a distant island of stars far beyond the Milky Way. It appears as number 29 in the Caldwell catalogue, Sir Patrick Moore's 1995 list of 109 bright deep-sky objects for amateur astronomers. It spans roughly 4.8 arc-minutes on the sky. At about magnitude 10.7, it is a fainter object best hunted with a moderate telescope under dark skies.
